Paradox Feb 1997 - From the Editor

The idea to develop an on-line magazine came about a year ago. A lot had happened since. I lost my mother. I gave birth to a lovely daughter. These are my excuses for the delay of making the magazine a reality. The biggest challenge though was to find writers to contribute their writings for free. It still is. Thus, if you have an itch to have your words published, send your writing to me . Better yet, if you would like to share the publishing responsibility, let me know. I have a bunch of ideas for the future issues, however, your suggestions are always welcomed. Here is a list of potential features.
  • "Republicans or democrats", if you have the right to vote, which will you vote for and why. Lend us your expertise on the American political scenes.
  • "Living in the bay area", you must have stories to share on this.
  • "Taking care of our elders", if you are in your thirties or forties, chances are your parents are growing old. Did you have to deal with their insurance, their hospital stay or their settling down in a country where they don't speak the language well? Share your experience.
  • "Corporate culture and Office politics"
  • "All that jazz", whose your favorite jazz musician? Which album do you listen to? Know something about jazz history? Share your expertise.
  • "All about shopping"
  • "Your favorite restaurant"
  • "Recipe depot" and
  • Creative writing (poetry, short story, etc. ...)

Since the birth of my daughter, my focus has been constricted to everything around and about her, as you can already tell by the contents of this issue. Uninterrupted time in front of the computer is ever hard to come by thus I have to put the "garnishes", the graphics, the design to decorate up the magazine, on hold. This is a start. As more effort can be put into this project, improvement can be expected.
